Riggs Davie PLC was founded in 2011 by attorneys Casey Riggs and Alexander J. Davie. They specialize in helping individuals, families, and businesses meet with their goals through estate planning law and business law.

Mr. Davie works with businesses and entrepreneurial ventures in the technology industry. Alex firmly believes that technology can enrich a person’s live and connect people with each other in new ways; as such he his passion about helping tech startups achieve success. Alex’s clients rely on his advise and expertise during all stages of their growth. He represents startups, founders, and entrepreneurs in initial entity selection and formation, and later in negotiating and structuring capital-raising transactions, including seed rounds, convertible notes, angel rounds, and venture capital investments. Alex also helps technology businesses with their ongoing legal needs, such as vendor and customer agreements, website terms of service, exempt reporting advisors, SAAS agreements, and regulatory compliance.
Alex remains very involved in Nashville’s startup community. He is a board of director member of the Nashville Business Incubation Center and as a mentor at the Nashville Entrepreneur Center, and he participates in multiple other causes aimed at keeping Nashville nationally ranked as a city to start a business.
Private Equity and Hedge Funds
Professionals in the private investment fund industry use Alex’s expertise he gained when he served as general counsel to a fund manager. He drafts the formation documents for private funds, including hedge funds, private equity funds, and real estate investment partnerships. He also counsels investment advisers on their regulatory obligations, such as initial state or SEC registration and ongoing compliance.
